Rhodactis Mushroom corals display a wide variety of colors, but are usually orange, red, blue, green, purple or a combination of colors.
They are one of the more hardy and easy to maintain corals. Under ideal conditions, they can multiply and spread rapidly. In some cases, it may be best to isolate them on the sand bed or similar to prevent them from overrunning the tank.
These types of mushroom corals like lower light levels, more so than the more common types of mushroom corals. If placed in a tank with high intensity lighting, they should be placed at the bottom of the tank and possibly shielded by a rock overhang or similar. They also prefer lower water flow.
They are semi-aggressive and require adequate space between themselves and other corals and sessile invertebrates.
Mushrooom are photosynthetic and do not require target feeding, but Rhodactis mushrooms tend to feed more actively than the more common mushroom corals. They will feed on small meaty foods if given the chance which may accelerate their growth.

||We want you to be happy with the coral that you receive and we take pride in the corals that we offer. To provide true representation of the color and health for our WYSIWYG corals, they are photographed and white balanced under the ReefCorner LED lighting at approximately a 10K to 14K white point to best show the actual color of the coral. The coloration may vary when viewed under different lighting. The grid the coral is typically photographed on is approximately 0.6" per square to give you a size reference.
||We identify the scientific name when we are able to with some degree of accuracy. You will notice that we don’t give our corals cool names like “AWESOME ULTRA SUPER METALLIC NEON RED AND SCREAMING LIME GREEN ULTRA ULTRA COLORED AUSSIE” unless it is a name in common usage in the hobby that helps to identify the coral. We let our pictures do the talking and you can be the judge of whether our corals are awesome or not.
